Justice Kareem Adeyimika Adedokun the presiding judge of the Oyo State High Court 2 Ogbomoso Judicial Division, will today, October 25, deliver judgement in a case between Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye and Prince Kabiiru Muhammed Olaoye. Justice Adedokun had reserved judgement in the case during sitting on October 3. Prince Kabir Olaoye in July 2022, dragged then Prince Ghandi Olaoye to the court over his nomination as Soun of Ogbomosoland by the Ogbomoso kingmakers. The defendants include the Oyo state governor, Oyo state attorney general, Oyo state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters, Ogbomoso North local government, Ogbomoso North traditional council and Prince Amos Olawole Olaoye (Mogaji Olaoye ruling house) who are 1st to 6th defendants respectively. Nigeria to vaccinate 7.7 million girls against leading cause of cervical cancer

   Nigeria today introduced the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine into its routine immunization system, aiming to reach 7.7 million girls – the largest number in a single round of HPV vaccination in the African region – in a vaccination drive against the virus that causes nearly all cases of cervical cancer. Girls aged 9–14 years will receive a single dose of the vaccine, which is highly efficacious in preventing infection with HPV types 16 and 18 that are known to cause at least 70% of cervical cancers. In Nigeria, cervical cancer is the third most common cancer and the second most frequent cause of cancer deaths among women aged between 15 and 44 years.   Due to the twin policy measures of the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and the floating of the exchange rates by the Federal Government, the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has forwarded a bill for the upward review of year 2023 approved budget to the Oyo State House of Assembly. The bill scaled first reading on the floor of the House on Tuesday. It is seeking to revise 2023 approved budget for Oyo State from three hundred and ten billion, four hundred and thirty two million, five hundred thousand naira (#310,432,500.00) to three hundred and fifty two billion, two hundred and eighty two million, five hundred thousand naira only (#352,282,500.00).   Oyo state house of Assembly has received from the executive, the 2023 supplementary appropriation bill of over three hundred and fifty two billion naira Speaker of the house, Rt Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin disclosed this while reading a letter from the executive during the house plenary on Tuesday  According to the supplementary appropriation bill, recurrent expenditure took over one hundred and sixty-nine billion naira while the capital expenditure accounted for over one hundred and eighty-two billion naira.  Our correspondent reports that the supplementary appropriation bill and Oyo state supplementary finance bill also scale through the first reading. Nigeria Is Expecting $10bn FX Inflows In Coming Weeks, Says Finance Minister

  Nigeria is expecting a foreign exchange inflow of $10bn in the coming weeks, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has said He made the remark on Monday when he spoke during a panel session at the Nigeria Economic Summit (NES). “In addition, from the supply of foreign exchange through NNPC, increased production, reduced expenditure, from transactions such as forward sales, from our discussions with sovereign wealth funds, that are ready to invest and provide advanced alongside that investment, there is a line of sight of $10 billion worth of foreign exchange in the relatively near future in weeks rather months,” Wale Edun said at the event in Abuja.
