The Oyo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has extended heartfelt condolences to the residents of Oyo and the entire Alowolodu royal family on the demise of Prince Abdul Fatai Adebayo Adeyemi (a.k.a D-Gov).
In a statement released on Friday and made available to Heritage Echo News, by the Oyo State PDP Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro stated that the late Prince Adebayo Adeyemi was not just a political figure but a beloved member of our community. Stressing that we lost a luminary whose life was a testament to resilience, service, and unwavering dedication to the Oyo Kingdom.

Dear friends and fellow mourners,
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we gather today to bid farewell to a truly remarkable individual, Prince Adebayo Adeyemi, affectionately known as D’Gov. This morning, we lost a luminary whose life was a testament to resilience, service, and unwavering dedication to the Oyo Kingdom.
Prince Adebayo, a scion of the late Aláàfin of Oyo Kingdom, Oba Adeyemi, was not just a political figure but a beloved member of our community. His journey as the 2019 PDP Candidate for the House of Representatives and subsequent aspirations in 2022 showcased his commitment to shaping a brighter future for Oyo Federal Constituency.
In addition to his political endeavors, Prince Adebayo served diligently as the Chairman of the Local Government Pension Board until May 2023. His leadership was marked by a deep sense of responsibility and a genuine desire to improve the lives of those he served. He carried the legacy of his esteemed lineage with grace and humility, leaving an indelible mark on the tapestry of Oyo Kingdom.
As we reflect on Prince Adebayo’s life, we cannot overlook the valiant battle he fought against diabetes. His resilience in the face of adversity serves as an inspiration to us all. Through the highs and lows, he remained a beacon of strength, embodying the spirit of a true leader.
