EASTER: Tiamy Felicitates Christians, Advocates Tolerances, Love, Unity Amidst Economic Hardship
The Special Adviser to Governor Makinde On Education Intervention, Honourable Oloye Suraj Abiodun Tiamy has celebrated with the Christians in Oyo State and Nigeria by extension as they celebrate this year’s Easter, urging them to be prepared and willing to make sacrifices for greater unity, peace, political stability and progress in their beloved state and country.
Hon Tiamy, according to an Easter message personally signed by him and released in Ibadan on Friday, called on Nigerians in particular to seize the opportunity of the Easter holiday to reflect deeply on what more they need to do as a people, to ensure that the economic process Nigerian government is currently engaged in is successful towards a better future for the citizenry.
In his statement, Hon Tiamy said: “I greet you all, especially our Christian brothers and sisters, as we celebrate Easter in commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
"For Christians all over the world and particularly in Nigeria, the major lessons of Easter, which we celebrate this year amidst economic hardship and insecurity of the gene in our dear nation, are to be found in the Messiah’s Divine love and glorious self-sacrifice for the redemption of mankind.
“This year’s celebration of Easter is taking place at a period of very critical national struggles and decisions, during which we must all be prepared and willing to make sacrifices for greater unity, peace, political stability and progress in our beloved country.
“We must therefore seize the opportunity of the Easter holiday to reflect deeply on what more we need to do as a people, to ensure that the economic stability and security in which we currently engage as a people in is successfully concluded while our beloved country continues to move towards a better future for all of its citizens by praying and having firm belief in our leaders at all tiers of government to bring about the expected and deserved positive changes,” he added.
Hon Tiamy however, urged all Nigerians to follow the lessons of Easter and other injunctions on brotherly love, peaceful co-existence, tolerance, honesty, humility, justice, equity and fairness to all without discrimination as contained in the Gospels are of particular importance to us as a nation as we continue to contend with the challenges of nation-building and development.
