Oluyole Council of Obas Visits Akeem Olatunji After Electoral Victory, Vows To Sustain Support
As a demonstration of solidarity and unity, the Oluyole Council of Traditional Rulers paid a courtesy visit to Akeem Olatunji at his private residence at Sanyo, to celebrate his electoral victory at the just concluded local government election in the state.
Chairman of the Council, Baale Mustapha alongside Baale Kabiru Olajide Oleyo, Baale Ashaka led the delegation to Olatunji’s residence.
Olatunji, who was the chairmanship candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oluyole local government polled 17,063 to emerge winner of the election.
During the meeting, discussions centered on collaborative efforts aimed at promoting development, preserving cultural heritage as well as fostering peace and harmony within the LG.
The traditional rulers equally expressed their unwavering commitment and resolve to working hand in hand with the new chairman-elect for the betterment of Oluyole describing Olatunji’s mandate as their personal project.
In his brief remarks, Baale Mustapha expressed confidence in Olatunji’s political pedigree and integrity to positively turn around the socio-economic and socio-cultural fortunes of Oluyole local government.
The chairman of the traditional council emphasized the importance of synergy between traditional institutions and elected officials in driving sustainable progress and addressing the needs of the populace effectively
The monarch described Olatunji as an illustrious son of Oluyole in whom the council derive pride and excited to be associated with urging him (Olatunji) to continue in the path that has endeared all to him in the local government.
The monarch also stated that Olatunji exemplifies and embodies the typical Yoruba ‘Omoluabi’ ethos and called on the people to cooperate and support his administration in order to bring about the desired developments and dividends of democracy at the grassroots.
The traditional rulers however, took turn to pray for Olatunji’s success as the incoming Executive Chairman of Oluyole local government and assured of their commitment to a more robust relationship between the council and government.
In his response, Akeem Olatunji expressed gratitude for the warm reception and assured the traditional rulers of his determination to serve the people diligently, guided by the principles of accountability and inclusivity.
