Oluyole LG Chairman Lays Foundation For Construction Of New Amotekun Base At Ayegun-Olunde



The Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr Akeem Olatunji, has laid the foundation for a new security base of the Amotekun Corps in Ayegun-Olunde. 


This move according to the Council boss was part of efforts to enhance security architecture and capacity of personnel in the area. 


The foundation laying ceremony held today, August 3 at Ayegun-Olunde community, with traditional rulers, community and religious leaders as well as officials of Amotekun Corps in the area, present to witness the event. 


Olatunji in his address, stated that the new facility situated in ward 1 of the LG, when completed will bolster the security infrastructure and improve response times to incidents within the area.


He explained that the new Amotekun base will serve Olomi-Ayegun-Olójúoro axis which consist of Ward 1, 6,and 7.


He equally promised that there would soon be another base to cover Muslim - Onila - Ayetoro - Egbeda Atuba Axis which consist Ward 4 and 3.


The Council Chairman further emphasized the importance of community safety and the role of the new base in addressing security challenges in Oluyole LG. 


He reaffirmed his commitment to replicate what he termed pragmatic approach of Governor Seyi Makinde to sustainable security, public peace and tranquility in the state assuring that he's administration has already domesticated the state's security template for the purpose of cohesive results. 


He said, “This project reflects our commitment to ensuring a safer environment for our people in Oluyole local government. 


"With the Amotekun Corps operating from this new base, we anticipate a significant reduction in crime and an increase in the efficiency of our Amotekun operations.


"The new base, which is set to include administrative offices and operational facilities, is part of our broader initiative to expand the reach and effectiveness of the Amotekun Corps in Oluyole LG in line with the vision of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde. 


This foundation laying for a new Amotekun Base at the grassroots in Oluyole also aligns with the state government’s ongoing efforts to enhance local security and deepen a stronger partnership between law enforcement and local communities."


The President, Aiyegun General Community, Aare Wasiu Olapade, Baale Ayegun; Chief Azeez Adeleke, and Baale Okiti, who all spoke at the event lauded Olatunji's foresight and pragmatic approach to leadership especially at the grassroots. 


They assured of their continuous support for his developmental initiatives and drive towards providing adequate security for lives and properties of residents in the LG. 


They equally commended governor Seyi Makinde for providing the needed leadership that creates what they described as geopolitical balance across the state without leaving any part behind. 


Present at the event were the Vice Chairman and Political Head Akorede LCDA, Hon. Adeniyi Akorede, the Chairman PDP in Oluyole LG; Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola, Oyo Assembly member representing Oluyole state constituency; Hon. Waheed Akintayo, S.A to Governor Makinde on Oluyole Federal Constituency Hon. Olumide Okelawa, Chief of Staff Hon. Azeez Babalola, Leader of the House Hon Azeez Taofeek. 


Others were the 10 Councillors in the LG, Supervisors and Party Ward Chairmen and their local executive members as well as party faithful.
