Additionally, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources under the leadership of Hon. Mogbonjubola Olawale Jagaban AbdulMajeed is actively working to reduce flood risk in various zones across Oyo State through targeted projects. The program looks forward to discussing these initiatives and collaborating with fellow stakeholders at the event to further enhance the environmental well-being of our state.

"However, the phrase Make Oyo State (Ibadan) Sparkling Clean-“Let join hands" is not merely a rhetorical flourish but a clarion call to action. It beckons us to envision a state where cleanliness is not only a virtue but a way of life, where our natural surroundings radiate with a brilliance that mirrors the vibrancy of our communities. The challenge before us is considerable, but so too is the potential for positive change". Honourable Commissioner opined.

In the pursuit of progress in Oyo State, it is crucial to recognize the integral role each individual plays in fostering sustainable practices, particularly in waste management, clean and green initiatives, and addressing broader environmental concerns. Together, let us embark on a collective journey towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Oyo State, where our actions today lay the foundation for a vibrant and thriving tomorrow.

Oyo State's sustainable development hinges on a collective effort to address pressing environmental challenges. Achieving sustainability necessitates active participation from individuals who play pivotal roles in shaping the trajectory of the state's environmental well-being.

In the heart of our vibrant Ibadan, nestled within the embrace of Oyo State, a promise resonates today, echoing through the corridors of time - a promise to make our state shine, "Make Oyo State Sparkling Clean," is not just a theme, but our guiding star. We stand committed to addressing the challenges that come with a growing population. Six new additional landfills will take root in Ibadan, providing the necessary infrastructure to handle the increasing wave of waste. This isn't just an idea; it's a plan, a promise in His Excellency Roadmap for Sustainable Development in Omituntun 2.0.

Our commitment extends to the procurement of operational vehicles, from compactors to specialized waste management equipment, all into action.

The specter of blocked water channels leading to flooding is one we aim to dispel. Through relentless advocacy, we pledge to ensure that waste generated by our citizens finds its rightful place, ensuring a safer and cleaner environment.

Advocacy doesn't stop at water's edge. We promise to intensify public awareness and education on responsible solid waste disposal. Informed citizens become responsible citizens, and that's the path to a cleaner Oyo State. Waste reduction is a top priority. We’re also committed to implementing the zero waste initiative. A path to more sustainable waste management, it means less heading to landfills and dumpsites, and a cleaner, greener future.

Indiscriminate dumping of refuse will face consequences. Our determination to implement sanctions and penalties against those who disregard our environment remains resolute. A cleaner Oyo State demands accountability.

The beauty of our state is not just in its people but also in its landscapes. Landscaping and beautification projects will continue to unfold, transforming public spaces into oases of tranquility and harmony. In the quest for cleanliness, we're not just addressing the present but shaping the future. Public toilets and hygiene facilities will sprout in schools, markets, and public spaces, promoting good hygiene habits through educational campaigns. Cleanliness is health, and health is wealth.

In the realm of policy, we pledge to craft frameworks for tariff determination and containerization of waste in earnest. Clear guidelines are essential for sustainable waste management.

But our promise extends further, envisioning a future where recycling becomes the norm. A comprehensive policy framework for waste sorting and recycling will be crafted, leading Oyo State toward a more sustainable and eco-conscious path.

This is not just a pledge but a vision—a vision of a cleaner, more sustainable Oyo State, where the environment thrives alongside its people, and the promise of "Making Oyo State Sparkling Clean" becomes a reality for all.

Therefore, the residents of Oyo, whether urban or rural, play multifaceted roles in shaping the destiny of our environment. The State government will ensure adequate Waste Management; Clean and Green Initiatives; Environmental Awareness and Education; Community Engagement and Collaboration; Policy Advocacy; Technological Innovation and Promotion of Sustainable Lifestyles as these are focal points to drive sparking clean environment in Oyo State
