Ceasefire: Hamas confirms release of 13 Israelis, seven foreigners

The armed wing of Hamas said Saturday it had handed over 13 Israeli hostages to the Red Cross under the terms of an agreement with Israel, along with an additional seven foreign citizens.

The transfer – which had been delayed after Hamas accused Israel of violating the agreement, claims denied by Israeli officials – took place “in the context of the humanitarian pause”, the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades said in a statement.

Mrs. Balkis Olatunji, wife of the Oluyole Local Government Chairman, yesterday hosted all the wives of Councillors in the Council. The recent condemnation of Akeem Olatunji by a certain group for cautioning party members or groups within the PDP in Oyo State is misguided and unfortunate. Akeem Olatunji’s stance was aimed at fostering party unity and ensuring that all members align with the vision and leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde. As the overall leader of the PDP in Oyo State, Governor Makinde’s choice of aspirants is crucial in maintaining the progress and stability that the party has achieved. Any attempt to undermine this leadership by showing sympathy for other aspirants without considering the governor’s input threatens the cohesion of the party.
