TIGMEIN replied JDS on religious claims

We read with disdaIn the response of chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi and his ilks to our poser on the true identity of his faith. The response is like the groping of a blind man in the dark and lack an iota of logic. We know from onset that he is a Christian and a Celestial Church worshipper. We are equally aware that at conversion to christianity, he renounced the Islamic faith and dropped the "Jubril" in his Childhood nomenclature. His recent attempt to don the cloak of Islamic identity after his age long abdication of the same faith is the reason why we are taking him up, as it raises serious questions about the authenticity of his intentions and the sincerity of his convictions.

Pastor Jubril 's assertion that he was born into a Muslim background and has now converted to Christianity may seem plausible at first glance. However, upon closer examination, his sudden revival of his Islamic name after years of publicly identifying as a Christian raises significant doubts about the genuineness of his religious conversion.

To accept Pastor Jubril's explanation at face value would be to ignore the glaring inconsistencies in his narrative. If he truly embraced Christianity and renounced Islam, we expected him to adopt names like Gabriel, Samson , Saul or others. Also, why did he choose to discard his Islamic name at first, and why, after years of identifying as a Christian, does he suddenly feel the need to resurrect his old jettisoned name and Islamic identity?

The timing of Pastor Ilaji's name change is what baffles us the most, coming as it does in the lead-up to the gubernatorial election of 2027. It reeks of opportunism, a calculated ploy to appeal to Muslim voters and curry favour with a significant segment of the electorate. His actions betray a cynical disregard for the principles of honesty and transparency, as well as a willingness to exploit religious identity for political gain.

As citizens and voters, we must demand integrity and steadfastness from those who seeks to govern us. In the case of Pastor Jubril Dotun Sanusi, his actions speak volumes about his character and his suitability for public office. His attempt to deceive the electorate through the manipulation of religious identity is a betrayal of the trust placed in him by the people he seeks to represent. It is incumbent upon us to see through the facade and hold him accountable for his deception. Only then can we ensure that our democracy remains true to its principles of honesty, integrity, and transparency.
