Oyo State Environmental Task Force Raids Black Spots, Nabs 19 Offenders for Illegal Dumping Of Refuse



The Oyo State Environmental Task Force has recently conducted a series of successful raids on identified black spots, resulting in the apprehension of 19 individuals involved in indiscriminate dumping of refuse. These raids, carried out periodically during late nights and early morning hours, aim to curb the alarming trend of illegal waste disposal in our state.

The task force, comprised of dedicated personnel and equipped with the necessary resources, has been relentless in their efforts to maintain cleanliness and order in Oyo State. Through their systematic approach, they have identified and targeted areas where illegal dumping is most prevalent, ensuring that offenders are held accountable for their actions.



The Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Arc Mogbonjubola Olawale  AbdulMajeed said by conducting these raids, the task force sends a clear message that indiscriminate dumping will not be tolerated. It serves as a deterrent to those who engage in such activities and helps create a healthier and more sustainable environment for all residents.

"With a steadfast commitment to safety and progress, the Seyi Makinde led administration in Oyo State is dedicated to creating a secure environment for its residents. Through tireless efforts, it is actively seeking to attract both local and foreign investors, paving the way for a prosperous future for the state."

The nineteen individuals apprehended during these raids around Ringroad, Alakia and Iwo road will face appropriate legal consequences for their actions with the option of penalty fee of one hundred and ten thousand naira or one month community service. Nineteen offenders were apprehended, the actions of a few can create dark spots in our society, but through collective effort and the vigilance of organizations like the Oyo State Environmental Task Force, we can guide against the indiscriminate dumping of refuse and work towards a cleaner and more sustainable future for our state.
