Hon, Tiamy leads Governor Seyi Makinde's Delegations to Three-Day Workshop on School - Based Management Committee Training in Iseyin Local Government



We are excited to announce that Hon. Abiodun Suraj Oloye-Tiamy, Special Adviser to the Governor on Education Intervention, is presently in Iseyin Local Government for a pivotal three-day workshop focused on School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) training. This workshop is part of the implementation of the Better Education Service Delivery for All Additional Financing for Technical Education and Skills Strengthening (BESDA AF-TESS) project.


The workshop, which runs from today, Wednesday, the 29th, to Friday, the 31st, is employing the Community Driven Development (CDD) approach. This approach emphasizes community participation and ownership in the management and development of schools, ensuring that local needs and perspectives are prioritized.


During the workshop, participants will receive comprehensive training on effective school management practices, community involvement in school governance, and strategies for improving educational outcomes. The goal is to empower School-Based Management Committees with the knowledge and skills necessary to support the sustainable development of educational institutions in their communities.


Hon. Tiamy underscored the importance of this training, stating, "The active involvement of the community is crucial for the success of our educational programs. By equipping SBMC members with the right tools and knowledge, we are fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility towards our schools, which will ultimately lead to better educational outcomes for our children."


The workshop is expected to draw a diverse group of participants, including SBMC members, local education officials, teachers, and community leaders. This collaborative effort is a testament to the commitment of the Oyo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, to enhance the quality of education across the state.
