  The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oluyole ahead of the coming 2024 Local Government election, Akeem Olatunji has renovated Olomi Community Primary School 2; a block of four classrooms at Olomi, Ibadan. The renovation involves reroofing the building that was damaged by rainstorm during a heavy downpour in the area about seven years ago, westernmirror.com.ng has gathered.According to the former Publicity Secretary of the ruling PDP in Oyo state, teachers and students could no longer use the building for academic purposes after the damage.   President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday signed the N2.17 trillion 2023 Supplementary Budget into law.  The National Assembly had about a week ago passed the bill and subsequently transmitted it to the president for his assent.  Tinubu signed the bill in his office at the presidential villa in Abuja at a ceremony witnessed by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Tajudeen Abass. EFCC Bows To Order, Produces Emefiele In Court

  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has bowed to the order of the court by producing the former Governor of the Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele, in court for the hearing of his bail application. Emefiele who has been in the custody of Security agencies for over 149 days, was ordered by Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, to be released unconditionally or be brought to hear his application for bail. Dressed in a yellow Kaftan and a cap and flanked by operatives of the EFCC, the former CBN Governor arrived at the courtroom at about 12:30 pm. Justice Adeniyi had on Monday, reaffirmed his order that the detained former CBN Governor be brought to court today November 8, for the purpose of admitting him to bail. IGP Restricts Movement In Bayelsa, Imo, Kogi On Election Day

  The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the restriction of vehicular movement in Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo states during governorship elections scheduled to hold on November 11, 2023.   The naira crashed against the dollar on Monday, falling to 1, 030/$ on the average in the parallel market, losing the momentum it gathered last week. This represents a N80 loss or a 8.42 per cent decline of the local currency compared to the N950 it closed the week at last Friday. Hardship: Workers, pensioners to get 25,000 and N15,000 cash award for six months- Makinde

  Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, on Monday, declared that workers and pensioners in the state would receive a monthly cash award of N25,000 and N15,000 respectively for the next six months. He noted, however, that the workforce and the people of the state would have to work with the state government to develop the economy of the state for the long term, as according to him, once there is economic prosperity in the state, everyone would be touched.                  The governor stated this when he addressed the workers at the frontage of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, during a solidarity rally.
