  The House of Representatives has issued summons for appearance to the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Nigerian Immigration Service, Nigerian Metrological Agency, Nigerian Immigration Service, Niger State Command, Investment and Security Tribunal, and the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria to appear before the Public Accounts Committee on Tuesday next week to answer queries issued against them by the Auditor General for the Federation. At the hearing of the committee held on Thursday, members described the actions of the agencies as unacceptable especially in view of the previous invitations extended to them and the grievous nature of the allegations levelled against them in the 2019 Auditor General’s Report which have not been responded to.   President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday signed the N2.17 trillion 2023 Supplementary Budget into law.  The National Assembly had about a week ago passed the bill and subsequently transmitted it to the president for his assent.  Tinubu signed the bill in his office at the presidential villa in Abuja at a ceremony witnessed by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Tajudeen Abass.   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has bowed to the order of the court by producing the former Governor of the Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele, in court for the hearing of his bail application. Emefiele who has been in the custody of Security agencies for over 149 days, was ordered by Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, to be released unconditionally or be brought to hear his application for bail. Dressed in a yellow Kaftan and a cap and flanked by operatives of the EFCC, the former CBN Governor arrived at the courtroom at about 12:30 pm. Justice Adeniyi had on Monday, reaffirmed his order that the detained former CBN Governor be brought to court today November 8, for the purpose of admitting him to bail.   The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the restriction of vehicular movement in Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo states during governorship elections scheduled to hold on November 11, 2023.
