NASS Passes N2.17trn 2023 Supplementary Budget

 The Senate and the House of Representatives, on Thursday, passed the N2.17trn 2023 Supplementary Appropriation Bill after third reading.


Before the passage of the bill, the Senate adopted the report of the harmonized sittings of both red and green chambers on the 2023 Supplementary Appropriation Bill as submitted by Chairman of the Appropriations Committee, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (APC Ogun West).

Mrs. Balkis Olatunji, wife of the Oluyole Local Government Chairman, yesterday hosted all the wives of Councillors in the Council. In her welcome address, Mrs. Olatunji emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort in driving grassroots community development. The event, held at the Oluyole Local Government Secretariat, Idi-Ayunre, also had in attendance, wife of the Vice Chairman and Political Head of Akorede LCDA, Mrs. Rukayat Omotayo Akorede.  Mrs. Olatunji urged the women to forge stronger bonds and collaborate with their husbands effectively to enable them address local challenges facing their various wards. A Response to Group Criticizing Engr, Akeem for Cautioning Overambitious Politicians in Oyo PDP

The recent condemnation of Akeem Olatunji by a certain group for cautioning party members or groups within the PDP in Oyo State is misguided and unfortunate. Akeem Olatunji’s stance was aimed at fostering party unity and ensuring that all members align with the vision and leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde. As the overall leader of the PDP in Oyo State, Governor Makinde’s choice of aspirants is crucial in maintaining the progress and stability that the party has achieved. Any attempt to undermine this leadership by showing sympathy for other aspirants without considering the governor’s input threatens the cohesion of the party.
