Late Olubadan's Legacy Lives Forever, Reign Ushered In Prosperity To Ibadan–Oyo TUC Mourns Oba Balogun's Demise

The Oyo state Council of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) has expressed sadness over the passing of Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Mahood Lekan Balogun, who joined his ancestors last night at a well advanced age of 81.

The Congress described the late paramount ruler of Ibadanland as a well loved king whose reign ushered into the state prosperity amid serious national economic challenges.

The Chairman of TUC in Oyo state, Comrade Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro disclosed this today in a statement he personally signed to commiserate with the state, bereaved family, and the entire Olubadan-in-Council.

The first class monarch passed away yesterday Thursday 14 at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan following a brief illness.

The TUC leader stated that in the annals of Ibadan's history, the reign of the late Olubadan stands out as a testament to the transformative power of visionary leadership, even in the shortest of spans.

"Despite the brevity of his tenure, the late Olubadan's legacy looms large, marked by a profound resurgence of prosperity and progress throughout Ibadanland.

"Ascending to the revered throne amidst a backdrop of socio-economic challenges, the late Olubadan wasted no time in charting a course towards rejuvenation and prosperity for the people of Ibadanland.

"Through a combination of strategic initiatives and inclusive rulership, he galvanized the collective spirit of Ibadan's residents, igniting a wave of optimism and development across the land.

" The leadership, entire workforce and members of the Trade Union Congress in Oyo state are proud to be associated with His Imperial Majesty throughout his lifetime even as a former senator of the federal Republic as his fatherly role in terms of mentorship and guidance have constituted in no mean measure to our struggle and development process.

"While praying God to grant the bereaved family fortitude to bear the pain of his passing, we assure that we will continue to cherish his memory and preserve the legacies he left behind. We simply appeal to the entire state, the executive governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and the entire Olubadan-in-CouncilOlubadan-in-Council to accept our condolences, and we equally pray God Almighty to grant our late king passage into eternal rest."
