Olubadan: " Oba Lekan Balogun's Short Reign as Olubadan was highly Impactful " - Arapaja Mourns the Demise of Olubadan of Ibadan land.
The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja has expressed profound shock over the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, HRM Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun who joined his ancestors late last night.
In a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists through his Personal Assistant, Bamitale Ibrahim Amb. Arapaja described the passing of Oba Lekan Balogun as a monumental loss to the entire people in the state, stressing that the late Monarch's two year reign was highly Impactful and memorable.
Ambassador Arapaja who is the Oluomo of Ibadanland, expressed his heartfelt condolences with the Oyo State government under the leadership of Engr Seyi Makinde, the Olubadan in council, family, friends, as well as other people of Ibadan land on the passage of the Olubadan who just celebrated two years of his ascension to the throne last week Monday.
He said that late Oba Balogun has made indelible contributions to the traditional and political spheres of Ibadanland, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
He added that though his reign was relatively short he would be remembered for seeking unity, progress and community development during his lifetime.
Amb. Arapaja further stressed that his pivotal role in upholding the rich cultural heritage as well as traditions of Ibadan would forever be remembered.
Arapaja who enjoined the people of Ibadan land to take be of good cheer and accept the Olubadan's demise as the will of Almighty Allah, prayed God to grant the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, the Olubadan in council, the people of Ibadan land and especially the immediate family members of Oba Lekan Balogun ( Alli Okumade the 2nd) the fortitude to bear the loss and grant kabiyesi aljannah fidrous.
